Open Letter To You….
I just wanted to take a moment to remind you how special you are. I know that parenting can feel overwhelming at times, and it’s completely normal to struggle. You’re doing an incredible job, even if it doesn’t always feel that way.
Remember that every parent faces challenges, and it’s okay to feel exhausted or unsure. It’s important to be gentle with yourself. You’re navigating a tough journey, and it’s perfectly okay to ask for help or take a break when you need it.
Take a deep breath and remind yourself of the beautiful moments, too—the laughter, the small victories, and the love that surrounds you. You have so much strength and resilience, and I believe in you wholeheartedly. Each day is a new opportunity, and you’re not alone in this.
If you ever want to talk, vent, or just share a cup of tea, I’m here for you. You’re an amazing parent, and you have a community that loves and supports you.
Hang in there. Brighter days are ahead.
With all my support,
To the Parent:
I hope this letter finds you feeling a little spark of joy! I want you to know how brilliant you are and that I believe in you completely. School can sometimes feel tough, and it's okay to have days when you don't feel like going or doing your best. But I want to remind you of some wonderful things about yourself!
You are unique and full of potential. Every day is a new opportunity to learn something exciting. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help when you need it. You have so many people around you who care and want you to thrive.
You are capable of achieving great things, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Small steps matter, and every effort counts. Your ideas and thoughts are valuable, and your voice deserves to be heard.
Take a moment to celebrate your strengths! Whether it’s being a good friend, being creative, or having a great sense of humor—these qualities make you shine. School is just ONE part of your journey, and it can help you discover even more about yourself.
Believe in yourself, because I believe in you. You are stronger than you think, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish!
With lots of encouragement,
To the Child:
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts with you, especially if you’re considering mental health therapy. First and foremost, I want to commend you for even contemplating this step. It takes courage to recognize that you might benefit from support, and that’s a powerful realization.
Therapy is a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. It’s an opportunity for you to gain insight into yourself and develop coping strategies that can make a real difference in your life. Remember, seeking help doesn’t mean you’re weak; it means you’re brave enough to prioritize your well-being.
You deserve to feel supported and understood. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, sadness, or simply feeling overwhelmed, know that there is hope and healing available. Therapists are trained to help you navigate these challenges, offering guidance tailored to your unique situation.
Taking the step to enter therapy can lead to profound personal growth. It’s a journey of self-discovery that can empower you to reclaim your life, build resilience, and foster a deeper understanding of yourself. Every small step you take can lead to meaningful change.
If you’re feeling uncertain, it’s completely normal. Many people share those same feelings when considering therapy. Trust yourself to take this step, and remember that you’re not alone. Support is available, and you are deserving of it.
I believe in your strength and your ability to create a brighter future for yourself. Know that you are worthy of compassion and understanding, both from others and from yourself.
Take your time, and when you’re ready, know that there’s a world of support waiting for you.
With encouragement and warmth,
To the Individual:

My Approach…..
My approach to therapy focuses on normalizing mental health treatment and breaking down the stigma surrounding it. I understand the fears and mistrust that often surround the healthcare system. As an African American woman and advocate of healing, I am committed to being part of a system that reduces those fears and honors your unique experiences. I believe therapy should be tailored to fit each client’s cultural background and personal story—not a one-size-fits-all approach.
I celebrate the individuality of my clients and envision each person thriving in their own "swimming pool," equipped with their own tools for support. Together, we will create a safe and nurturing space that fosters growth, understanding, and empowerment on your path to well-being.
